With the confirmation of the transfer of England centre half John Stones from Everton to Manchester City today, he’s what Barnsley are expected to receive given the sell on clause we had in the deal that took him to Goodison Park.

Manchester City have paid a whopping £47.5million for the player, and Barnsley are said to have a 15% sell on clause in our original deal.

That works out at a windfall of around the £7.125million mark for our former player.

The cash might not stop there though as there are suggestions that performance related clauses in the Everton/City deal could amount to a further £2.5million should Pep Guardiola’s side lift the Champions League now.

Certainly not a bad return when you consider we picked up £3million for him back in 2013.
