Swans Swans Swans Swans? Poor Barnsley

A laughable performance from Barnsley allowed Swansea City to breeze past a Tykes side who look destined for League One.

Roberto Martinez even admitted after the game that his side didn’t even play that well.

Barnsley fans dread to think what would have happened to their team should the away side have put in a half-decent performance.

It was all talk for Barnsley’s big Easter weekend as once again the Club let its fans down.

A nightmare start for the Reds saw the Swans take an easy lead on two minutes. Gomez’s free-kick that should have been cleared in a routine style was finished by Ashley Williams.

Barnsley may have dominated with posession but simply couldn’t find the net, which is the difference between survival and relegation.

Jordi Gomez then doubled Barnsley’s misery five minutes before half time. The midfielder danced his way to the edge of the box before his tame effort crept into the bottom corner, Muller was nowhere to be seen.

At half time the Tykes made two changes. Campbell-Ryce and Andranik were replaced by Devaney and Colace.

Jason Scotland couldn’t believe his luck when Heinz Muller gifted the frontman his 24th goal of the season. Scotland was embarrassed whilst he tapped home into an empty net.

The Swans were laughing, their fans were dancing, and cries of ‘Davey out’ came from the home-end.

It was a nothing performance from Barnsley, with only Hassell, Hammill and Kozluk showing their worth.

Daniel Bogdanovic scored a penalty.
