Teixeira Is A Red

Filipe Teixeira has joined Barnsley on a month’s loan deal from Championship promotion hopefuls WBA.

The Portuguese midfielder has made 72 appearances for the Baggies but has come to Oakwell on a month’s deal with a view to a permanent transfer at the end of the season as his contract is up in the summer.

He should be available for selection at Deepdale tomorrow when the Reds face Preston North End in a re-arranged fixture.

Mark Robins is a keen admirer of Filipe’s and told Barnsley’s official website: ‘If we can get him to the top of his ability then he will be a very, very good addition to our squad and will benefit us greatly.
