Here at Vital Football I would like to thank David Flitcroft for everything he did during his time at Barnsley.

Flitcroft steered Barnsley to the great escape last season. It was such an achievement that I`m not sure any other manager would have been able to keep Barnsley up from such a position.

That achievement gives him the status as a Barnsley legend in my eyes.

The match at Huddersfield and scenes that followed were the best experience I have had as a fan supporting Barnsley. That includes our season in the Premier League and our various trips to Wembley. It really was a special day.

Unfortunately no one gets time in football anymore and if you don`t get the results on the pitch then we all know what the eventual outcome will be. That is the life of a modern football manager.

I wish that Flicker had been given more time but I can see why the club felt his time had to come to an end.

I just want to show my thanks to Flitcroft and everything that he achieved at the club and I hope that he goes on to have a successful managerial career elsewhere.

He is a honest, hardworking, likeable bloke and I`m pretty sure there will be many clubs who would like to have David Flitcroft with them whether that be as a manager or a coach.

All the best David Flitcroft and thank you for the time you spent with my team and those special memories that I will always have from last season.
