Darren Moore will make an emotional return to the Hawthorns this Sunday as the Reds face WBA in their final Championship match of the season.

36-year-old Moore was in the side that achieved promotion to the Premier League twice and even scored the opener over Palace that clinched the Baggies promotion in his first season at the club in 2001/2002.

Speaking to the club’s official website Darren said: ‘I am looking forward to the game and it will be nice to go back there if I am selected to play.’

Moore is still a fans favourite at the Hawthorns, earning himself the fond nickname ‘Big Dave’ because of his likeness to a popular character in a TV advert at the time.

He continued: ‘On a personal level it is a great one for me and I have some special memories from my time at West Brom.’

If Moore is selected he is sure to receive a hero’s welcome at the Hawthorns, particularly as it is extremely likely to be his last appearance there.

Moore has expressed a desire to continue playing football at Barnsley and hopes to be offered a new deal at the club when the current season is over.
