Recently released Norwich City marksman Oli Johnson has suggested that Barnsley Fc are interested in securing his services.

Currently on trial with league one side Carlisle United, Johnson was due to play a behind closed doors friendly with Doncaster Rovers but this fell fowl of cold weather conditions. Johnson though is believed to favour a move to Brunton Park where he believes he would get more first team opportunities stating “Barnsley had a chat with me. I think they saw me as a future prospect but I am hoping to get a chance of first team football in the near future.”

There also seems to be other options for the young striker who claims that there are four or five options available to him should a deal at Carlisle fall through.

Oli Johnson was born in Wakefield before starting his career at Stockport County, he caught the eye of Norwich City in 2010. Two loan spells at Yeovil Town have followed before his recent release from Norwich City. Hardly prolific in his career to date in 84(46 sub) he has notched 13 goals at an average of 0.15 goals per game.
