This Weeks Signings

With Hungarian International Akos Buzsaky arriving on loan from Portsmouth until 31st December the Barnsley squad now looks to have options everywhere and players will be battling just to make the bench.

His arrival follows those of Emile Sinclair and Jonathan Greening this week as well as Marcus Tudgay last week.

All these signings look good on paper and all have experience at this level and/or at Premier League level.

There seems to have been a decision made that cash needs to be spent in order to save Barnsley from relegation. The policy of signing lower league players on the cheap seems to have been abandoned for the time being at least.

Today the loan window closes so I fully expect there to be some activity at Oakwell today.

This will be with players leaving and I don`t expect anyone else to come in although I would like a centre half proven at this level.

As for the players who might leave I think you just have to take a look at the players who didn`t make the bench at Bolton.

Hassell will go if anyone comes in for him. He is definitely out of favour with Hill and I think his level now could be League One.

Etuhu is another, he has looked poor so far and he may need games somewhere else if he is to get another chance at Oakwell.

I would certainly try to loan Mido out. He hasn`t got a sniff of making the bench now and the only chance he`s got of getting fit is to go to a lower league team and get games. I wouldn`t be surprised however if he never gets himself fit enough to challenge for a place in the Barnsley team.

Harewood could benefit from a month on loan in League One. He hasn`t been able to get himself match fit all season and overall has been disappointing. His goal against Forest underlined that he could still be useful so a month of football and he could come back a different player.

Dagnall could be another to go. I think he has played well this season and always works hard but is never likely to get the goals needed. With all the competition at the moment he will struggle to make an impression on the team.

Any of the youngsters could also go out for a month now that the squad is looking big. Rose, Clark, Noble-Lazarus, Digby (if fit).

I wouldn`t even be surprised if Stones did. He`s been in and out of the side of late. After such an impressive start to his Barnsley career a few mistakes have crept in as they will to anyone at his age, it`s nothing for him to worry about he will be a great player no doubt. With all the midfield options at Hill`s disposal now I expect Cranie will play at right back. So Stones could maybe benefit from a month in the league below playing every game. Or maybe Hill will just take him out of the lime light for a few months so the big clubs don`t come sniffing in January.
