Tykes Transfer Rumour – Michael Chopra

The summer is well and truly here as the transfer rumours truly hot up.

Barnsley will be linked with hundreds of players between now and August. I will only report on the ones I believe to have some substance and the ones that even though unlikely will spark some interest.

I`m hearing rumours of a return to Oakwell for Michael Chopra. I believe this one falls under the latter.

He has been released by Ipswich and should command much interest given his Championship record.

Last season was a poor one for Chopra which was probably more down to personal problems than ability.

Ability wise I think he would still be worth a gamble for the reds. Would he come back and would Barnsley pay the wages he would want? That I would doubt.

O`Grady will be Flicker`s number one target for up front. If he gets him and Scotland re-signs then I`m not sure another striker will be his priority, especially with Danny Rose almost ready to compete for a start.
