On-loan Chelsea forward Ike Ugbo is celebrating his and Barnsley’s success.

Ugbo, who got the ball rolling in the 3-0 win over Sunderland, grabbed his first Championship goal for the Reds on Saturday; he also set up George Moncur to secure the points for the Tykes.

Having been given his opportunity Ugbo, 18, took it but as much as he was pleased with his personal performance he knows it was a great team win.

The forward told the Official Website: ‘It’s a great feeling. To score in front of our home fans and to get a win against a top team. I had to take my opportunity today, because Tom (Bradshaw) is a top player and I think I did well, I got my first goal for Barnsley and we got a great win for the team.’

Confidence from this impressive win is taken into the international break with Ugbo convinced this can be taken forward into the next one in a couple of weeks.

Ugbo finished: ‘I think it will give us belief and more confidence going forward now, to win 3-0 and especially against a top club, one that’s come down from the Premier League. So we have a lot of confidence that we can take into the next game.’
