We caught up with Vital Cardiff ahead of tomorrow`s massive FA Cup Semi Final at Wembley.

What have you made of your season so far?

Inconsistent and for that reason, highly frustrating. It’s hard to blame the team; they are generally young and have done pretty well. So many of the problems have been down to the poor finances, which are denying us any loan signings. That said, it`s been great at times and very disappointing at others.

Five points off the play-offs – Are you still in with a chance?

Truth be told, I think it’s too late. There are just too many teams we’d have to do better than to sneak in and it looks a little out of reach. The players and club have made all the right noises and insist we’re going all out, that`s all we can hope for, for now.

Who has been your most consistent performer so far this season?

The likes of Ledley, McNaughton and Parry have all been consistent but I’d have to go with centre-back Roger Johnson. This is only his second season at the club and he performs to a very high standard every week. Defensively very strong he’s also a threat at the other end and his partnership with Loovens has been the bedrock of our revival.

Any weak areas of your team you would have liked to improve?

Absolutely! We have a couple of gaps that need plugging but the attacking options are really poor. Fowler’s injury was a blow but we’ve really struggled in that area and will need two probably three additions over the summer.

Who is your real danger man this weekend?

A tough one but I’ll have to say Paul Parry. He adds the pace up-front to worry defenders and that allows our midfield the time they need to play their passing game. Parry is a winger by trade and has pace, a few tricks and a good shot on him.

Are you aware of the threat Barnsley may pose?

I don`t think any side in the country would underestimate you now! Its a bit different this time as we’re in the same division but you have a strong defence and Brian Howard who simply loves to score against us!

Prediction for Sunday?

For once heart and head are fully in agreement and I’m backing Cardiff City for the win. I don’t think it will be easy but 2-1 to the Bluebirds.

A big thanks to Rhodri from Vital Cardiff for giving his thoughts.

Vital Barnsley wish both sets of supporters a wonderful and safe day out at Wembley on Sunday.
