Chris O`Grady was crowned the supporters player of the year after scoring 15 goals for Barnsley in a team that was relegated.

In what had been a poor season for the club you could fully understand the award going to O`Grady.

However, despite the goals he scored and the effort he showed I do think he had as many bad games as good games, spent too much time out of position and missed a few games through injury.

Martin Cranie came top of our poll and also received the players vote. I do think he was our most consistent player but missed far too many games due to injury.

Another contender for me was Luke Steele, he again was magnificent for the most part but also missed a large chunk of the season.

The Vital vote goes to Tom Kennedy. Kennedy had a poor start to season but recovered well and was exceptional from the moment Danny Wilson took over.

He was an almost ever present and played more games than any other player during the season as well as finishing with more assists than any other player.

He turned his form round despite a constant barrage of abuse from most Barnsley fans. Most fans won`t admit to his good end of season form as they have already made their minds up on him but for me he came through his bad patch and deserves his own fans to start to get behind him.
