Barnsley are in Capital One Cup action against Everton at Oakwell on Wednesday, with this a 7:45pm kick-off for the Sky Sports game.

Everton will be favourites although Barnsley will by up for an upset with the Reds knowing a win will book a third round meeting with Reading at the Madejski Stadium should they win, with this draw made on Tuesday.

Lee Johnson will call upon Man United loanee duo Ben Pearson and Joe Rothwell, who will hope for starting places.

The Barnsley Head Coach doesn’t have ‘any fresh injuries’ to contend with and will ‘name his strongest side’ by all accounts.

Everton will give Bryan Oviedo a first start since February with Brendan Galloway (knee) out along with Leighton Baines (ankle), Steven Pienaar (hamstring), Tony Hibbert (knee) and Darron Gibson (foot).

Former Reds defender John Stones isn’t likely to face us as he handed in a transfer request on Tuesday!

The omens are with Barnsley in some ways as Everton’s last five away matches in the League Cup have resulted in exits, however the Reds haven’t beaten the Toffees in a competitive game since 1951, losing six and drawing two of the eight-matches played.

Barnsley will hope for a positive result, to progress into the third round of League Cup but will this happen?

Whatever line up Johnson goes with expectancy will be high of at least one more tie, however ahead of the game we’re looking for your views on what way you think it will go, which obviously requires you to vote in the latest poll one of two ways….
