Barnsley’s League 1 season gets underway against Chesterfield at the Proact Stadium on Saturday to kick-off the 2015/16 season; with this a traditional 3pm kick-off.

The Reds will be backed by a very healthy travelling support as Lee Johnson looks for us to get off to a positive start against Dean Saunders’ Spireites side having been appointed as the new boss this summer.

Saunders’ first game in charge of Chesterfield will see him come in without any injury problems but several of those central to the side that made it into the play-offs last season have moved on including Tendayi Darikwa, Jimmy Ryan, Gary Roberts and Sam Clucas.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Jake Orrell and Dion Donohue have been brought in and could play a part for the hosts.

Reds Head Coach Johnson will have to do without recent Fulham signing Ryan Williams (groin) due to injury but ahead of the game he said ‘everybody else is in half-decent nick, a couple still chasing minutes on the pitch and training sessions.’

Marc Roberts, Marley Watkins, Alfie Mawson, Conor Wilkinson, Ben Pearson, Joe Rothwell and Dan Crowley, all summer recruits, could make their Tykes debuts.

Are we positive about how this one will go?
