Barnsley’s League 1 season continued with yet another defeat at Oakwell against Fleetwood on Saturday.

The dreadful Barnsley run continued with Fleetwood becoming the latest side to beat the Reds, not just at home but in general, with a Proctor’s goal in the first half enough to see the Cod Army go away with the points.

Fleetwood took the lead just ahead of the half hour mark when Proctor (29) took the ball from his own half, went onto beat Barnsley defender Roberts and then finished past Townsend in the Reds goal to give the Cod Army the lead.

An equaliser was threatened with Fleetwood ‘keeper Maxwell saving well from Mawson’s freekick as Barnsley were frustrated in those attempts.

Isgrove, signed ahead of the game on loan from Southampton, looked to earn the Reds a point on his debut too but this was blocked as Fleetwood saw out a win to take them out of the bottom four.

Defeat, a fifth successive reverse, saw Barnsley’s struggle continue and the Reds replaced Fleetwood in the bottom four!
