Barnsley’s League 1 season continued with a win against Bradford at Valley Parade on Tuesday.

The fine run of form Barnsley have found of late saw the bragging right (more importantly) the points from a one-nil win at Yorkshire rivals Bradford to move further away from the relegation zone, with these points also taking the Reds closer to what seemed an unlikely (and will still be viewed as doubtful) play-off place!

This unbeaten run was extended to five with another win, secured in the opening minutes, when Marley Watkins was on hand to head a George Williams cross past Bradford ‘keeper Ben Williams.

That goal was enough but Watkins threatened to add another, which would have made sure, with his effort curled just wide after a good run. Bradford should have scored though, Josh Morris went close but Jamie Proctor missed an even better chance when presented with an open goal.
