Barnsley’s League 1 season continued with a disappointed defeat at Spotland against Rochdale on Saturday.

The positive, albeit it in a five-three defeat, thoughts that came from the Everton defeat suffered by Barnsley in midweek were something to take forward by the Reds but goals from Andrew, Vincenti and Henderson ensured it was a miserable afternoon with Rochdale winning three-nil!

Inside the opening 10-minutes Rochdale were ahead when Andrew (8) drove in from the edge of the area to give Dale the lead with that doubled ahead of half time when Vincenti (36) headed home.

Any hopes of a Barnsley revival were ended just past the hour when Henderson (63), on what was his 400th career appearance, beat the Reds’ ‘keeper again to make it three-nil and assure the home side of the point.
