Barnsley’s League 1 season continued with a draw against Bury at Gigg Lane on Tuesday.

A goalless draw with Bury didn’t do much for Barnsley’s chances of forcing a way into play-off contention, then again it wouldn’t have helped our hosts’ chances much either in a game that saw us end with 10-men with Adam Hammill sent off late on.

The best of the chances did come our way with Conor Hourihane, Alfie Mawson (who has now seen compensation agreed for his move from Brentford) and Southampton loanee Lloyd Isgrove nearly making the breakthrough.

A final 10-minutes or so was played a man light with Hammill sent off for a foul on Danny Rose.

Following this draw Barnsley are now six-points off the play-offs.

These were the other results.

Bury 0-0 Barnsley
Peterborough 1-2 Oldham
Rochdale 1-0 Fleetwood

Only a handful of games, not too many goals either but some crucial points gained, and lost, in the battle to mainly stay in League 1!

A weekend victory against Gillingham was followed up by Oldham (two-one) getting another vital three-points when the Latics won at London Road to further dent the Peterborough hopes of a play-off place whilst boosting hopes of avoiding the drop.

Fleetwood’s (one-nil) own chances suffered a knock with a defeat at Rochdale.
