Elliot Lee has penned a contract with Barnsley.

The actually length of this contract hasn’t been revealed but what we do know is the West Ham striker has arrived on a permanent deal from the Premier League side.

Lee, who had loan spells with Blackpool and Colchester last season, has signed from West Ham for an undisclosed fee.

During those loan spells last season he twice faced Barnsley at Oakwell but next season he’ll be turning out for the Reds.

In his time with West Ham (a club he had come through the academy at) he managed seven first-team appearances with the 21-year-old scoring one-goal, which came in a Europa League qualification match against Andorran side FC Lustrains last season.

Time will tell if this if this arrival of Lee has signalled the end to our interest in bringing Ashley Fletcher back from Manchester United following his successful loan spell with the club last season?
