Ashley Fletcher definitely isn’t making a Barnsley return as our former Manchester United loanee has joined West Ham.

Elliot Kebbie and Dylan Mottley-Henry have joined our Development Squad though.

Fletcher rejected the offer of a new contract from Jose Mourinho at United deciding he wanted to leave Old Trafford on a permanent basis in order to get regular first-team football elsewhere, which had seen him linked with a return to Oakwell after his successful loan last season.

He feels he will get a chance in the Premier League as the 20-year-old has signed for West Ham on a four-year deal with compensation paid to United.

Best of luck to Fletcher but now we focus on our own with the club confirming the arrivals of Kebbie and Mottley-Henry, who have both signed initial six-month contracts with Barnsley and will link up with the Development Squad at first.

Should they impress both should stay for longer and will look to make inroads into the first-team squad, if not starting XI in the not too distant future.

21-year-old Kebbie is a full back who had gained interest ‘from a host of Championship clubs’ but the former Leeds academy graduate, who has also had time with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, has been snapped up by Barnsley.

Head of Academy Recruitment Bobby Hassell told the Official Website.

‘Elliot is a very talented player; he’s a modern day full back who likes to get forward with great pace and power. I believe he has all the attributes to push for a place in the first team.’

Mottley-Henry is an 18-year-old winger who had been in the Bradford first-team but he was allowed to leave after two appearances with him getting a deal following his recent trial with the Reds.

Hassell added.

‘Dylan has unbelievable pace while also being very athletic; he`s been able to slot straight in and train with the first team this past week. He also played 45 minutes against Stalybridge and showed fantastic potential. He fits the DNA of what the first team are looking for and I believe we have a top prospect on our hands.’
