John O’Sullivan was someone we worked hard to bring to Barnsley, the interest in the Blackburn winger stretches back to Danny Wilson’s time as manager. We lose him after Preston.

Wilson, who said he came close to signing O’Sullivan permanently in January, wasn’t able to manage this but when the 21-year-old signed a new contract with his parent club he was allowed to join us on a season-long loan, or at least what was left of it! That was the hope anyway….

His current loan expires after the play-off ‘six-pointer’ today so he’ll return to Ewood Park with the Championship side deciding that they need him back so we’re in the market for a replacement before the emergency loan window closes next week with Lee Johnson already making it clear he’s looking with any move happening on Monday to give them ‘a full weeks training.’

We could have looked within the squad perhaps but with the play-offs still very much on we’re probably best of, as we are, looking at brining someone in but would only do this if they were an improvement on what we have of course.

Losing O’Sullivan is a blow, he’s been involved in all of our seven-match unbeaten run, but we can’t do much about this all we can do is find a quality replacement – but who could this be?
