Why the Reds Want Butcher

Barnsley general manager Don Rowing sees Terry Butcher as the ideal candidate for the Barnsley job due to many attributes he has but mainly for his fighting spirit.

Butcher has done a remarkable job at Inverness Caledonian Thistle who currently sit in second place in the Scottish Premier League.

Butcher oversaw relegation with Inverness a few years ago. He managed to get promotion the following season and has steadily built year on year to establish them in the top division in Scotland and push for a Champions League spot.

The fact that Butcher has taken a club down and been able to bring them back at the first attempt is something that appeals to Rowing and Barnsley.

Inverness are a small club who attract less fans than Barnsley so there isn`t much money available which shows Butcher can work on a budget and steadily build a team over a few years which is just what is required at Oakwell.

On paper he ticks all the right boxes but I`m still not sure. What do you the fans think?
