Manager Danny Wilson has said that MK Dons undoubtedly scored against the run of play in the game last weekend as we fell to a two nil loss.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game the gaffer knew that two moments in the game went against us, but it is a familiar story this season.

‘We were, arguably, in the best part of our play when MK Dons scored. We came out quite strong and confident. We got on the ball very well, it’s just one mistake and that’s been costing us in recent games. There’s a ball played into the box, it’s been headed out and we’ve not got to the second ball. They’re the fine details as well that make the difference. They’re key moments that change games. There’s two moments that have been the difference.’

Wilson goes on to say that in the early part of the game especially he felt we were doing really well defensively, and we looked a threat on the counter attack, and again for their second goal he felt we were well set, but we were undone by a diagonal ball through.

‘I can’t legislate for decision making. We’ve got to believe and take some confidence from large parts of the game. They were getting quite frustrated. Any team that gets themselves into that position at 2-0 would pop the ball about. There are parts of that game where I felt we were going to come out with something. In most areas we did okay without being outstanding.’

Wilson ends the interview by saying that it remains a learning curve for the players though, but we have to cut out these mistakes, make better decisions and continue to show more consistent improvement across 90 minutes.
