Manager Danny Wilson has said that he hopes he can welcome back some experienced options to our first team XI ahead of the game against Port Vale this weekend.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game the gaffer explained.

‘We’re hoping we’ll have one or two back. Martin Cranie has trained this morning (Thursday) so we’re hoping he gets no reaction to that. Peter Ramage, he missed the game as a precaution at the weekend, he’ll be available again. We’ll be adding one or two more senior players to the squad.’

Wilson goes on to say that he was hopeful at the point of giving the interview that Ramage would be ready to start, but yesterday at least it was a case of ‘wait and see’ on that score.

‘Sam is getting a lot closer than he has been this last few weeks, obviously. The injury’s such a concern because you don’t know at this stage whether you can push him a bit further. We’re really in the hands of the players and we’re hoping he’s not too far away.’

Wilson goes on to say that James Bailey is now available again and he played for the under 21s on Monday and came off with a tight hamstring, but it’s not expected that will rule him out of this weekend’s game.

As for the match itself, the gaffer went on to say.

‘There’s nothing between any of the teams when you take away the top three or four. They’ve had a couple of good wins and it’s propelled them into the position outside the top six. They’ll be very confident. It’s a tough game and it’s a big game against Port Vale and they think they’ve got a good chance and rightly so. One or two won’t agree with me, but they’ll be just as confident of getting there just like any other team, but we’re confident we can beat them.’
