Striker Sam Winnall has said he’s targeting a return of even more goals now that Barnsley are heading towards the true ‘business end’ of the season.

With a nice turn around in League One form following earlier wobbles and booking our place in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy against Oxford United at Wembley, the departure of Lee Johnson to Bristol City hasn’t overly upset things – although granted Winnall is hoping the last defeat to Gillingham proves to be a hiccup in recent weeks – and speaking to the Official Site ahead of this weekend’s tie against Doncaster Rovers, the in form striker said he definitely wanted to keep his current run of ten goals in ten games going.

‘We`ve scored a lot of goals in the last month to six weeks and it`s been pleasing to help score and be involved. When you`ve got players who are quality around you, you create so many opportunities. We`ve got plenty of quality not just up top but from out wide and in the middle. We`re bound to score goals and I can understand now we`ve had that time to gel, we`ve learned to play with each other and we look so dangerous going forward.’

Hopefully a return to winning ways this weekend and another three points onto the league tally.
