Barnsley are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Sam Winnall in the six one victory over Rochdale at the weekend at Oakwell was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Winnall was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Winnall got a special mention last time around, but didn’t make our Team of the Week despite his two-goal haul against Shrewsbury Town. The Tykes’ number nine made sure this time, netting a perfect hat-trick in the weekend’s Result of the Day – a 6-1 rout of Rochdale.’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Winnall for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points.

Full Team:

Ian Lawlor (Bury), Stephen Hendrie (Southend United), Jake Wright (Oxford United), Moses Odubajo (Hull City), Anthony Knockaert (Brighton), Michael Mancienne (Nottingham Forest), Pelly Ruddock (Luton Town), Richie Wellens (Shrewsury Town), Will Buckley (Birmingham City), Sam Winnall (Barnsley), Paddy Madden (Scunthorpe United).

Manager – Kevin Nolan (Leyton Orient).
