Wolves Left Wandering Into Bottom 3

Flicker and Micky Mellon have masterminded a master stroke after losing scott Goldbourne late in the day.

I feel the loss of Goldy late on forced a last minute change of formation and Flicker decided to go 4-4-2. It may have always been the plan as I do feel Tom Kennedy could have played left wing back with Delap on the right. What are the fans thoughts on this?

Wolves started much the brighter with Barnsley seemingly lacking shape from the loss of Goldbourne.

Bjorn Sigurdarson put the visitors ahead and it would become apparent that the Reds would have to show all the qualities Flicker has instilled in them. O’Hara rattled the bar shortly after as the visitors ran the early stages.

The reds came into the game and created several good chances in the final 20 minutes of the first half.

I stated in the break that though we had been poor in thr first half, they had been shocking.

David Flitcroft sent the boys out early for the second half, clearly wanting a better start than they had to the first half.

The Reds drew level when Vital Star Man Chris Dagnall headed from a Delap cross. Barnsley would not settle for the single point, and they continued to probe at the Wolves defence.
Dagnall would also play his part in the winning goal, he foraged down the left, centred for O`Grady to set it back for substitute Mellis, who side-footed a deflected effort into the bottom corner.

Sat in front of the back four and did a decent job. Looked to lack match fitness but his great footballing brain kept him out of trouble. I thought he looked OK, I did here a few fans on his back. Get Behind Em

Ran his socks off and was the pick of a midfield that was somewhat bypassed througout. Great block late in first half.

Played out wide and did not look the player he does in the hole when playing 3-5-2.

Many balls hit O’Grady and he played a decent role down the left.

What can I say the the words of flicker ‘the most honest, hard working player you will meet’. Ran the line and got his goal. Flicker has got the best from Daggers.

Awesome again, I can see why he keeps his place. Truely gutted to be subbed and celerated with the fans at the whistle.

He is the most natural finisher we have. Though I see why he is still on the bench, working towards fitness, Daggers and Harewood putting in the performances.

Got the goal and worked hard.

Well how do we rate this. I felt the performance was poor. The long ball game was played, however we got the result. It must have been hard losing Goldbourne late on. The lads played for the Gaffer and the crowd were behind them.
