Barnsley aren’t losing Tommy Wright to Bristol City as he’s turned down an approach.

An approach is also something Plymouth rejected from us for Curtis Nelson with our interest ending in the defender.

Wright had been linked with a reunion with Lee Johnson at Bristol City basically from the minute the former Barnsley boss has made his own move to Ashton Gate but the 50-year-old didn’t wish to accept the U21 role he had been offered with our Championship rivals.

Not only has Wright turned down Bristol City our assistant Head Coach has penned a new deal.

A new deal isn’t something Nelson has agreed with Plymouth but an improved offer for the 23-year-old isn’t going to be made either with our original offer the only one we’ll be making to the League 2 side.

The Plymouth Herald is reporting Paul Heckingbottom will turn his attention to other targets.
