Barnsley have today confirmed the capture of former Barnet skipper Andy Yiadom.

The 24 year old comes to Oakwell on a free transfer and has signed a two year deal with the club.

Having made 177 appearances for Barnet, he’s capable of playing left back and left wing, and he has scored seven times during the 2015/16 season.

Speaking to the Official Site as his signing was confirmed, head coach Paul Heckingbottom explained.

‘We are really pleased Andy has chosen us as the next step of his career. He`s an athletic and exciting player with experience but also has his best years ahead of him at 24 years of age.’

Yiadom himself said of the move.

‘I`m very pleased to come to a club like Barnsley. They`ve done very well and I`m just looking forward to getting out there and doing my best for the Club. I know they play attacking and exciting football, that`s what I`m looking forward to doing.’
