Barnsley’s second string saw off Yorkshire rivals, Bradford City, with a last-gasp penalty on Oakwell’s academy pitch.

Seasoned midfielder, Keith Gillespie lined up for the Bantams with the home side’s line-up including youngster, Reuben Noble-Lazarus.

It took ten minute’s for the Barnsley young-guns to open the scoring. Diego Leon, on the comeback from injury, whipped in a neat corner for Grundy’s flick-on to find Jamil Adam at the far post. The youngster, who was recently called up to the Nigeria Under-20 squad, nodded home from 2 yards.

It took only two minutes for City to get back on level terms. Leon Osborne poked home from a few yards after Simon Ainge’s cross-come-shot was blocked by the Reds’ defence.

Up and coming midifler, Jacob Butterfield carved out a great pass for Noble-Lazarus only for the 15 year-old to be tugged back in the box.

Up stepped Simon Heslop to convert the penalty and seal a last minute win for Simon Davey’s second Tykes outfit.
