Clubs Queuing Up For Stones

Reports coming from Oakwell are that Barnsley have rejected a £1.5 million bid from Fulham for John Stones.

Sunderland are rumoured to be poised to swoop with a £2 million bid that will really test the Barnsley board.

If this is true I would turn that bid down too and try to get a bidding war going with the interested teams.

If this interest is serious I do think Stones will be leaving us in January. If that is the case we need to make sure we get the best price possible for him.

The danger is though, if a bidding war takes place and goes to the last few days of the transfer window, would Flick have time to sort a replacement out..? obviously the more money we get the better, so I’d run the risk if it meant 2 -3 million, not sure if it’s likely though.

I think if they get offered £2 million they will take it. Wiseman is the replacement for Stones according to Flicker on radio de da this morning.

Just seen that Louis Saha has been released on free transfer basis by Sunderland, if his wage demands aren’t too high might be worth enquiring for striker roll until the end of the season..?

Thinking about it, wages would probably be a stumbling block unfortunately.

Wages probably would be but you don’t get if you don’t ask. It would be worth a try, we don’t lose anything if he says no.
