Daggers

Barnsley boss David Flitcroft is happy for Chris Dagnall. The reds boss is happy that he is now finding the back of the net as reward for all of the hard graft he puts in but most of all he is pleased that the fans have now taken to him.

Flicker admits that it seems to have taken the Oakwell crowd some time to warm to Dagnall.

Despite the strikers` lack of goals early in the season, Flicker found this hard to believe. The effort and energy of Dagnall made Flicker believe he would be a fans favourite anywhere but at Barnsley it has taken a while.

Flicker likened the way Dagnall goes about his business to that of a typical Barnsley man. Honest and hand working and will never let you down. For that reason when Dagnall was signed he expected him to be an instant hit with the fans.

This didn`t happen straight away. Maybe it was that he was in and out of the team? Maybe it was just about goals? Maybe we football fans have now become so fickle that players have to do more than simply run their blood to water for us to consider giving them a pat on the back?

Flicker also described Daggers this week as Craig Mackail-Smith reincarnated. A complement indeed with how sought after he is amongst Championship clubs.

I for one echo the gaffer`s sentiments and I`m pleased that Dagnall is getting the praise he deserves for his performances. Hopefully he can keep those scoring boots on until the end of the season and fire us to Championship safety.

Super Chissy Dagnall All credit to him for digging in and giving his all. I do have to say Scotland looks the most natural finisher.

He’s come on leaps and bounds this season and has adjusted nicely to Championship football now! Should be called “MIDAS”, everything he touches turns to “GOALS” and long may that continue…

What a difference a few months makes, just hope we can keep it going, the feel good factor is great at the moment, but I wonder if anyone will post anything negative..? (Cue Tony).

Tony seems to have gone quiet. Maybe he only posts when he has something negative to say and when he has nothing negative he just doesn’t say anything.
