Davey still open to fresh faces

Barnsley manager Simon Davey insists he is always on the lookout for players who can improve his current Barnsley squad.

Davey enquired about Bolton striker Ricardo Vaz Te, but the Portuguese striker has been out injured at the Reebok.

However, the Welshman says he will not be rushed into bringing in bodies who won’t improve his current squad:

Simon told teamtalk.com:

‘No striker is ever going to be off our agenda and we are always looking to improve the squad.

‘You have to ask whether there is someone out there who will improve us at the moment.

‘We will continue to ask questions and continue to look for players but at the moment I am happy with what I have.

‘You can never say never and we are always looking and watching matches.’
