Let’s Not Push The Panic Button Just Yet

Three games into the season Barnsley sit bottom of the pile in the Championship with a solitary point. But is it time to take drastic measures? Of course not.

A superb second half display saw the Reds come back from the dead at Hillsborough to rescue a 2-2 draw after trailing to two first half goals. Most spectators would say they were unlucky not to steal all three points.

A two goal defecit proved too much for them however against Coventry City at Oakwell. It looked as though Davey had sent out the same side that he did in the first half at Hillsborough. There was no creativity and no real skill to their play.

Preston came to tarn on Tuesday and didn’t even play well, but finished Barnsley off with 3 clinical strikes, that’s all.

The Reds have failed to hit top gear yet but are still just one point behind Sheffield Wednesday and level on points with ‘promotion contenders’ Ipswich Town and big spenders Nottingham Forest.

There’s no need to start calling for the manager’s head. All that does is make the players’ heads go down and that’s the last thing they need.
