Moore Over The Hill?

Not since tearing his groin against Watford in 2008 has Darren Moore spent longer out of the Barnsley side than he has recently.

Tuesday night`s victory at home to Nottingham Forest was the giant Jamaican`s fifth consecutive game out of the side and the Reds have lost just one game out of the five.

He was initially sidelined through injury after an accidental clash with team-mate Bobby Hassell against Scunthorpe, which incidentally left poor Bobby with a broken nose, but after some good displays from Ryan Shotton and Luke Potter in defence, Moore has found it difficult to get back on the pitch.

At 35 years of age, Moore has lost most of what little pace he had and struggles against the quicker strikers in the league. He also has the lowest clean sheet percentage of all the defenders at Barnsley with just 21.7%.

Failing another battering like Newcastle or injury or suspension to one of the current back four, Moore`s first team prospects look a little ominous at Barnsley.
