Barnsley are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected following the clash with Birmingham City.

The performance by Barnsley in the two nil victory over Birmingham City at the weekend at St Andrew’s Stadium was enough to earn them a place as manager of the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Morais was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘A special mention for Oli McBurnie, who was unlucky not to feature in this week`s selection, but his manager gets a spot after guiding the Tykes to a crucial victory and securing his first three points in English football.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Morais for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Aaron Chapman (Accrington Stanley), Clark Robertson (Blackpool), Tim Ream (Fulham), Adam Webster (Ipswich Town), Robert Snodgrass (Aston Villa), Joe Newell (Rotherham United), Lee Tomlin (Nottingham Forest), Zeli Ismail (Bury), Kevin Allison (Morecambe), Danny Graham (Blackburn Rovers), Jordan Bowery (Crewe Alexandra).

Manager – Jose Morais (Barnsley).
