Odd Job Just The Job

Barnsley`s Kayode Odejayi is making his mark in League 1 with Colchester United. The tall striker was on the mark again at the weekend, netting the only goal of the game away at Leyton Orient to send Colchester United 3rd in the league.

The big hitman has been loaned out by Barnsley to “kick start his career” after his impressive run of scoring in pre-season petered out when the season began. With Daniel Bogdanovic, Andy Gray and Jon Macken hitting the net more often and Iain Hume beginning to returning to form, a place in the first team at Oakwell has been hard to come by for the Nigerian.

He seems to have found his own form again though under Boothroyd`s guidance at Layer Road, bagging 4 goals in 3 games, the latest a powerful header in the 54th minute. When Odejayi returns at the end of his loan spell he will need to carry this form on in training and hopefully in the first team if he is to be offered a new deal in the summer.
