Where are they now? Promotion squad 96/97

The ageing Thompson played a crucial role in that promotion season operating as a left wing back for Barnsley.

He only spent 2 years with the club but proved he could put the ball in the back of the net scoring 5 goals, more than some strikers Oakwell as seen over recent times.

Thompson now coaches having spent time at York City, Scarborough and Boston Utd. He is now the first team coach at rivals Sheffield Wednesday. He was appointed by the recently departed manager Gary Megson.
