Wiseman Still In Plans

Barnsley manager David Flitcroft has said Scott Wiseman is still in his plans and could feature again in the first team.

Flicker still hasn`t ruled out a move away from Oakwell for Wiseman but if there is no more interest then the reds boss will have no problem in picking him.

Flicker admitted that a lot will depend on what happens to John Stones. If Stones is to leave the club then the Barnsley boss sees Wiseman as an ideal replacement at right wing back and I happen to think wing back would be his best position.

This is a big back track from the manager who two weeks ago stated that Wiseman`s position at the club had been made impossible by the fans.

However I do agree with his back track as if Stones is to leave then Wiseman will be needed and the manager should be able to pick what he considers to be the best team and not be forced to leave someone out just because the fans don`t like the player.

Meanwhile Flicker has said that he has had time to reflect on what went right and what went wrong under Keith Hill and that is why he is the right man to take the club forward.

When Hill first left Flitcroft felt that it was only a matter of time before he was out of the door too and when you leave somewhere you sit and reflect on what has happened.

Flitcroft did this and has analysed where the duo went wrong. He admits a lot went wrong towards the end but also looks at what they got right which was a lot of things from style of play to players that they brought in to the team such as Vaz Te, Butterfield, Drinkwater, Davies, Perkins and Dawson.

Flitcroft also thinks because he knows the players and club that he is the right option but felt some fresh faces and ideas would help and that`s why he has brought in his assistants.

The Barnsley boss says overall performances were good but results weren`t and that is what he has to turn round with a few minor tweaks. He believes that not much needs to change to get the results but says we will see a slightly different style of play.

I believe this will be a quicker high tempo style of play and obviously the formation change which he hopes will make us more solid at the back.

His January wish list has now been drawn up so let`s hope we can bring in the players who can keep us in the Championship.
