Barnsley have appointed a new chief executive following last week`s appointment of a new chairman.
Ben Mansford is the man coming in to the role. He is a sports lawyer and will leave his current role as director of a global sports marketing and management media group.
His previous work has involved negotiating contracts in the UK and abroad for players and handling regulatory issues with the football authorities.
Is it me or are the club now employing people who know how to run a football club the right way?
On the face of it, it certainly seems like more great news for Barnsley.

We finally have a stable back lot. We survived on the plank, now we’re really going somewhere.
Just had to pinch myself to make sure I’m not in some kind of strange dream..? All sounds too good to be true, but I really hope this is the start of a great new era for the club and fans…
I hope so too. Has anyone else noticed there has been no Tony on here since we stayed up and in the main good news coming from the club?
Only time Tony will appear on here is “IF” we were to lose 2 or 3 games on the bounce (which I hope won’t happen) he’s probable still upset that we stayed up……come on Tony, over to you..?
