Barnsley Sign Nyatanga

Barnsley have completed the signing of Lewin Nyatanga on a free transfer.

The Welsh defender, now 24, has penned a two year contract with the reds.

I was impressed with Nyatanga during his loan spell with the reds a few seasons ago. At the time I felt that he had the potential to move on to bigger and better things.

Since leaving the reds his career has stalled slightly and last season he was relegated with Bristol City whilst being in and out of their team over the last couple of seasons.

If Flicker can get him back on track then I think the signing is a good one. I`m confident this will happen and Nyatanga will be able to put the last few seasons behind him and progress to what he is capable of under the guidance of Flicker.

i think its another bit of shrewd buisness, great signing and yes i agree he has lost his way, but he will find it again at Oakwell !! the squad is shaping up nicely.

Good signing. Flicker will make him something special and he’s just what he wanted, a pacey, mobile Center Half.

Scanning through Twitter and a lot of rumours about Andy Johnson possibly joining Barnsley after leaving QPR. The guy’s got goals in him at Championship level.

Would be great if we could get Johnson as well.
