Barnsley entertain Millwall having come in to a bit of form under new boss David Flitcroft.

The reds could really do with three points tonight so let`s have the fans down at Oakwell to cheer the team on.

Come On You Reds

Barnsley Team News:

Barnsley will still be without Stephen Dawson and Jim McNulty.

New signing Jason Scotland will come in to the Barnsley squad but will have to settle for a place amongst the substitutes.

Bobby Hassell and Scott Wiseman face late fitness tests.

I expect the team to be:
GK Steele
CB Cranie
CB Hassell
CB Kennedy
RWB Stones
LWB Goldbourne
CM Perkins
CM Etuhu
CM Mellis
ST Dagnall
ST Harewood

Subs
Alnwick
Wiseman
Foster
O`Brien
Noble-Lazarus
Rose
Scotland

Player to watch: Perkins

His energy will definitely be needed in midfield with Dawson out injured.

Millwall Team News:

Millwall welcome back Shane Lowry after suspension. Scott Malone could return but Nathan Tyson will miss out with an ankle injury.

Rob Hulse could make his debut following a loan move from QPR.

Player to watch: Hulse

Will be looking to prove something after being shipped out by QPR.

Match Facts & Stats

Barnsley have won the fewest matches in the Championship with just six.

The reds are also the joint lowest scorers with 29 goals.

The tykes are also the most vulnerable team in the first ten minutes of matches with eight goals conceded in that period so far this season.

These two have faced each other 50 times with Barnsley having won 18 and Millwall 19.

Millwall gained a first victory in five visits to Oakwell in this fixture last season.

Having won the away fixture, Barnsley have the chance of a first double over Millwall in 17 years.

Match Prediction:

No prediction from me. What do the fans think?

Next Fixtures:Blackpool away on Saturday

The reds have sold out their allocation for this one. I get the feeling many aren`t going with the football as the first priority.

Not a bad shout with that team, only one change might be O’Brien starting instead of either Etuhu or Mellis..?

League points are the priority, so a win is essential tonight..otherwise it’s a steeper hill to climb, but confidence should be good amongst the squad…what chance a double (a rare event indeed)?

Back tonight! Fancy a 2-0 win.
Mellis and a debut goal for Jason Scotland.

    Get behind the Super Reds

PS – IF is cold it maybe another 5 years….

Yes O’Brien could come back in and maybe Foster instead of Hassell with Hassell struggling but I don’t think it’ll be far away. I’ll guess every game anyway and one week I’ll get it right.

Doubles certainly are rare for us but this is as good a chance as we have had recently considering the form of both teams. I’m never confident though.

Get your long johns on oldtime and if we win you’re coming to the next game as well.

Oh and if it is cold, just get some Bovril down yer neck, that’ll warm most things up!

  • oldtimetyke says:

Back for wolves game, may even make an away trip!

  • chiefred says:

An away trip as well, you have got the bug back.
