Barnsley v Watford

Image for Barnsley v Watford

Barnsley entertain high flying Watford at Oakwell tomorrow with both teams needing wins for very different reasons.

Watford are hunting down the automatic promotion spots whilst Barnsley continue to battle against the threat of relegation.

Watford`s recent for has been good and it has seen their manager Gianfranco Zola edge out Flicker for the manager of the month award.

Following a great victory at home to Brighton on Tuesday I hope to see more fans inside Oakwell to support the team.

Vital Quotes:David Flitcroft (after Brighton win)

Every single player was incredible and the fight that I saw today was special, they`re a special GROUP

Barnsley Team News:

Stephen Dawson is pushing for a start after returning from injury but will have to make do with a place on the bench.

Barnsley boss David Flitcroft has a few selection headaches with the way the players performed against Brighton but that is only a good thing.

I expect him to stick with the side that did the business on Tuesday which means Chris Dagnall will still be on the bench despite scoring against Brighton.

Likely team:
Steele
Delap
Wiseman
Cranie
Kennedy
O`Brien
Etuhu
Perkins
Mellis
O`Grady
Scotland

Subs
Alnwick/Lid
Hassell
Dawson
Cywka
Tunnicliffe
Dagnall
Harewood

Player to watch: Etuhu

He was awesome on Tuesday. Will we see that player again or the one who had been so poor at Man City?

Watford Team News:

Watford will be without Almen Abdi and Manuel Almunia.

Neuton, Hoban and Eustace will also continue to miss out.

Nathaniel Chalobah and Fitz Hall are expected to return.

Player to watch: Vydra

He`s been their main man this season with 20 goals to his name.

Match Facts & Stats

Watford`s last five games have resulted in three wins, one draw and one defeat.

Barnsley last beat Watford in 2010 when Emil Hallfredsson scored in a 1 – 0 victory.

Match Prediction:

Let`s have your predictions.

Next Fixtures:

i think besides forest away, this is our toughest game until the end of the season. 1-1 for me, which i`d take.but the lads set their stall out to win so, it could be a 3-2 either way, hopefully ours though.i expect him to change the team, maybe harewood and dagnel to start again.

Thought you might have brought some sunshine back with you Chief…welcome back to cold, miserable Britain (assuming you’ve been somewhere hot and sunny abroad)..?

It was hotter than here but not boiling, just had a weekend in good old Benidorm. I seem to have missed alot while away. Time to catch up now I think.
