Barnsley captain Stephen Foster is set to spend a lengthy spell on the sidelines as the defender needs a hernia operation.

Twenty-eight year-old Foster is probably going to be out of Saturday’s clash at Norwich.

A disgruntled Simon Davey told barnsleyfc.co.uk:

‘He has been in terrible pain for the last few days and has been to see a specialist in Leicester. It looks like he will probably need to have an operation next week.

‘It will be a blow but the surgeons are telling us that he could possibly be back in training within 12 days. He could even possibly be back playing in three weeks.’

This season has been typical of our luck. Had we not had all these injuries and other small problems we could have had our best season for years! When is our luck going to change? Hopefully by JCR stating he wants to stay at the club!
