Game On!

After a pitch inspection at Deepdale at 11am, the referee of today’s match against Preston North End has confirmed that the pitch is safe and the game will go ahead as scheduled.

North End’s official website reports that club staff have been working extremely hard to prepare the ground for today’s clash, clearing hundreds of tonnes of snow from the playing surface.

It’s good news in particular for Barnsley, who already have to play Plymouth Argyle again after their game with the Imps was abandonned after 58 minutes with the Reds leading 4-1. Another re-arranged match is the last thing Barnsley need to further clog up their fixture list.
