A fee of around £430,000 is reported to have been agreed between Barnsley and FSV Mainz 05 for the transfer of giant German goalkeeper Heinz Muller.

Muller fell out of favour in the final few games of last season after some high profile mistakes cost the Reds some valuable points, with Luke Steele deputising.

A new two year deal for Steele looks to have put paid to Mullers time at Barnsley, who still has a year left on his own contract.

Bundesliga’s new side FSV Mainz 05 are reported to to be looking for a natural replacement for 35 year old veteran Dimo Wache, who has been with the club for over ten years.
