New Skipper In Tarn

Barnsley have announced a change in the club captain today, with Stephen Foster being relieved of his duties and new boy Jason Shackell picking up the arm band.

Foster was given the club captaincy back in 2008 after the departure of Brian Howard. It was a close fought thing between himself and veteran Darren Moore, but Foster took it.

Last season his form dipped a little. There were a few little mistakes creeping in here and there that cost us a few points.

The appointment of a new captain should allow Foster to concentrate more on playing, whilst Jason Shackell commands the rest of the team.

Best of luck to Jason. Hopefully he will follow the likes of Neil Redfearn and Paul Reid and be a promotion winning captain with the Reds.
