New Striker Spotted At Oakwell

WBA and New Zealand striker Chris Wood was at yesterday’s match at Oakwell to watch Barnsley’s 3-1 victory over Huddersfield Town.

The 19 year old striker has recently signed a new deal with parent club West Brom but he is rumoured to be on Mark Robins shortlist of players to bring in at Barnsley.

Yesterday’s sighting looks to have confirmed those rumours and it’s now just a question of whether a deal can be sorted to bring him to Oakwell. We’ll probably be looking at a season long loan deal for the highly rated hitman, who has 8 caps for New Zealand including 3 at this summer’s FIFA World Cup.

At just 19 years of age, he has made only 25 appearances for WBA, scoring 2 goals but Mark Robins may see him as an ideal signing because of the way he plays the game.

Chris Wood would be an excellent signing for you guys and it would be great experience for the lad. He has huge potential and certainly knows where the back of the net is. I hope that if we get in a new striker or two that you do get to take Chris on loan. Could you take Luke Moore as well please?
