After the Middlesbrough game, Vital Barnsley posed the question of who you think is Barnsley’s player of the month for August.

In joint third place with 12% of the votes each are new boys Jason Shackell and Goran Lovre. Shackell helped the Reds to two clean sheets at home in August and also scored the opener in the Reds 2-0 victory over Middlesbrough.

Goran Lovre has been in fine form since the start of the campaign, fitting well into his role behind the lone striker. The Serbian had a hand in all three of Barnsley’s goals in the 3-3 at Ashton Gate.

In second place with 20% of the votes is Manchester City loanee Kieran Trippier. After a short spell with the Reds last season, Trippier has re-joined Barnsley on another loan deal and found himself at home the right side of midfield setting up Andy Gray’s second at Ashton Gate along the way.

The winner of the Vital Barnsley Player of the Month for August is Adam Hammill. The Liverpudlian winger polled a massive 35% of the votes for his performances in August, most likely helped along by his two goals against Bristol City and Middlesbrough.

Here are the full results of the poll:
