A little over a week ago, Vital Barnsley asked you to vote on the poll: Who is the best striker at the club?

Your votes are in, the poll is over and it has concluded that Daniel Bogdanovic is the best striker at the club. Since his arrival in January 2009 he has started 28 games and weighed in with 12 goals. He has, as he proclaimed on arrival at Oakwell, a gift for putting the ball in the net and despite one or two indifferent peformances, he has polled 38% of your votes.

When the poll began, Andy Gray was on the bench and not getting much of a look in. He has since put in a couple of excellent displays, particularly at Preston North End, to claim second place with 22% of the votes.

Jon Macken is still a fans favourite at Oakwell. He isn’t a natural born goalscorer like Bogdanovic. He’s a player very much in the mould of Andy Gray, or should I say Andy Gray is a player very much in the mould of Jon Macken? Mack is the older of the pair but only by a couple of months. He holds the ball up well, brings others into the game and still manages to poach a few goals along the way. He polled 21%.

In last place and probably undeserved really considering his exceptional circumstances is Iain Hume. He ran Gray and Macken close with 19% but his stop start runs in the team have not been conducive to consistency and so he hasn’t fulfilled his potential yet at the club. Hopefully he will prove this poll wrong sooner rather than later.

The next poll asks ‘Where will the Reds finish this season?’
