Barnsley have pulled off the signing of Polish born Midfielder Tomasz Cywka on a one year deal.

Cywka will provide much needed competition for places in the midfield area as boss Keith Hill looks to add experience to his an important area of the team.

Cywka played for Wigan Athletic after signing from Polish side Gwarek Zabrze in 2006. He had a short spell on loan at Oldham and Derby and eventually signed permanently for Derby in 2010.

He has also played for Reading where he went on loan in January 2012 so brings with him Championship experience.

Boss Keith Hill had been desperate to land another midfielder following the departure of Jacob Butterfield and failure to lure Manchester United youngster Oliver Norwood, who opted to join Huddersfield.

Cywka is also a Polish under 21 international and will hopefully prove to be another good bit of business from Keith Hill.
